American Indian Rock Art, Volume 48

American Indian Rock Art, Volume 48, brings forward nearly a dozen presentations from the first virtual conference of the American Rock Art Research Association. Four are single-site studies, and they include Picture Cave in Missouri (Michael Fuller et al.); the Weppler site in Montana (James Keyser et al.) with Plains Biographic rock art; anther Plains Biographic rock art site but this one in west-central Colorado (David Kaiser and James Keyser); and Cueva Higuerillas with its wealth of hand images in red pigment, located within Cucurpe in northern Sonora. This last paper, by Beatriz Menendez et al., reflects INAH’s long-standing concern with rock art sites in Mexico, and is one of two papers contributed in both English and Spanish.
