After twenty-five years as a boat captain, Gwynne decided to change course and began writing and illustrating children’s books. In her first book, she highlights some of the local wildlife that Dasha points out on their hikes together. It is her hope that readers will learn a little about their wild neighbors and go out and explore the beauty of San Diego’s open spaces.
